Comment: Be sure to check when there is a ferry before the planned trip, but not on the website because there are no exact departures. You must come to the port to check. Today is Sunday, and according to the schedule we found on the website, the departure was supposed to be at 11 a.m., but when we went to the port, they told us that it was not at 11 a.m., but to arrive at 3 p.m., and the ferry is at 5 p.m. We waited in line in the sun until 4:30 p.m. until we boarded the ship.
They don’t sell a return ticket.
You can pay by cash or card.
The price for one car and two people is mex $810 one way.
They are very slow.

Comment: It’s a dirt road, hot under the sun waiting for hours to board your vehicle, and there are just a few vending machines in the small waiting area (yes, there are clean restrooms). They are still working on the infrastructure, hopefully one day it will have paved roads, outdoor covered areas for passengers waiting to board, and some upgraded vending services. Once you board, the ferries offer air-conditioning inside or deck seating outdoors, and a snack bar. It’s about a 1 hour 45 min crossing from Calica to Cozumel. I have to give it 4 stars because there is no other way to to get your vehicle to and from the main land to the island. Ni modos.

Comment: On the highway the sign reads “Punta Venado” but this is the place to take your vehicle to cross it over to the island of Cozumel. This service has come a long ways in the 3 decades I’ve lived in the area! Now there are 2 companies operating, both with multiple daily departures, very nice vessels and comfortable waiting areas. Trip takes about 1 hour all told from loading to disembarkation. NOTE: you must arrive and be in line at least 1 hour BEFORE stated departure time! A great experience!

Comment: Coming with a motorcycle is pretty simple. Looked like they where turning away cars and wait time with a car pretty complicated. Schedule was confusing. Ride took almost 2 hrs. Don’t think I would attempt with a car unless u can arrive at least 2 or more hours early.

Comment: 2 stars for a dusty, gravel road. 3 stars for a bathroom in an air conditioned building, that was clean, but a hike on the gravel road. 5 stars for the crew/staff that despite some language barriers provide clear directions. Reservation line was clearly marked.
