Comment: It’s a ferry dock that I took from Juneau to Gustavus. Six hour boat ride, but it’s very scenic, also the location is a nice view of the mountain range, see plenty of birds, favorite sport for eagles to hang out

Comment: Getting off at this dock is fine. Boarding, not so much. There are no specific signs as to where boarders without vehicles need to gather. What happened is we congregated around a place where signs said it was a boarding area, but when the ferry arrived, we were told to move back to the island (think of three locations here: dock’s closest to the water, then the “island” and then the “beach” that is furthest away), hauling our luggage with us. Then, word got through the crowd that we had to meet the luggage cart way back at the beach to get our luggage on it (rather than the same lady that pushed us back to the island making another announcement).
For Pete’s sake, put up a sign at the beach for people to load there rather than causing angst and strife as people drag their stuff back and forth over that decent distance from the beach to the dock and back!

Comment: Love taking the ferry. I wish we could have more going in and out of the island. I would like to go to juneau for a day and come back. But the food is great. Seating is comfortable and spacious. Price is hard to beat.
