Comment: I arrived at 8:30 pm and told the lady at the ticket booth that I wanted to watch the ferry for a bit, so she directed me to park and said that I would need to return to buy a ticket when I wanted to transit the lake. After I parked, I walked down to the ferry dock, watched a couple of ferries come and go, then headed back to the parking area, climbed into my Sprinter van, and locked up for the night. Yes, I spent the night here and while that may or may not be allowed, it worked for me.
At 6:00 the next morning, I work up, bought my ticket and was loaded onto the ferry about 20 minutes later. It’s a 15 minute ride to cross over the lake, which I spent in the Sprinter making coffee and occasionally looking out. Super easy to cross the lake and when we arrived, the unloading was quick and I was on my way.
This is a super convenient way to cross over from Plattsburgh New York to (a half hour from) Burlington Vermont. Very cool and if you are not wanting to go around the lake, this is a fabulous alternative.

Comment: Overweight old lady working ny booth today was so upset when I asked her why the price was different today she got out and measured my truck, all worried about the hitch. Then radio the ferry to put me between 2 18 wheelers. No hurry old gal! Very upset about her life, we’re still laughing!! Only person who can change your life is you!! So sad to be this miserable , your alive and well be happy!!! She also recorded my plate number to send out an email. What a business!!
I highly recommend asking her, the five bucks as well worth the show .

Comment: Staff acts like we are bothering there cellphone time by getting tickets. They routinely close an empty boat as he getting a ticket to send it on your way. They need a bridge and the staff need people skills

Comment: The ferry ride was a really cool experience and a great way to cross over from New York to Vermont. We were lucky enough to park right the front row so we got lots of great views crossing over. I would highly recommend this experience!

Comment: We unexpectedly took this while on a road trip. Our nav system didn’t indicate the route would involve a ferry – we knew we’d be crossing water based on the map, but assumed it was a bridge until we got there. The alternate route looked like it would add at least an hour, so we just rolled with it. The loading crew on the New York side was super quick and efficient, and the ferry filled quickly. The crew said that the ride across would be about 15 minutes. It was smooth, and even my dog thought it was fun! haha Unloading was also quick, and we were on our way to Vermont!
