Comment: Amazing cavern that’s very large and cheap. The caverns are large and the tour guide was extremely friendly. SPANISH ONLY TOURS.
The gondola is frequently broken though so you will likely have to hike to the top. It’s 2.5 miles and it’s extremely steep. I struggled and I routinely run 3-4 miles a day.

Comment: I went five years ago and the cable car was working went again in 2024 and the cable car has been down for two years. Doesn’t look like it’s going to get fixed again I don’t recommend, unless you are very athletic to climb up and down the mountain, it’s very slippery on the way down only a few sections have rail bars to hang onto 90% of the trail you’re risking falling down and hurting yourself so not recommended for older people or people not in shape.

Comment: Very cool caves! It’s kind of far from Monterrey, but if you can make the drive it is worth it. The cable car to get up the mountain is well maintained; I’d recommend taking it unless you want to hike up the mountain. The caves itself are very impressive. The tour guide there was very nice and made us laugh a lot. Sometimes it was dark while walking in the caves, but usually there were lights. You will be walking up many stairs (750 of them), so the caves are not very suitable for young children or very old people. The sights can’t be expressed by photographs, you need to see it all in person for the full experience! I advise you to wear long pants because it can get a little cold in the caves, however by the end of the tour I was actually hot because of my face mask. Enjoy your trip if you go!

Comment: Great place to spend a few hours. You can take the tram to the cave entrance or spend an hour or so walking the path up. When we started it was clouded over and couldn’t see the entrance from the ground and when we got to the top couldn’t see the ground. This is a guided tour and ours spoke clear and loud so it was easy to understand him. The paths are well marked and easy to traverse as long as you don’t mind stairs. You will walk about 750 stairs so make sure you are comfortable and don’t need to go to the bathroom before going in. Lots of snack and souvenir shops at the bottom but you may want to do that at the end. We would go again.

Comment: Surreal experience! Super cool.
Hike is comparable to stairs for 40 min. Bring lots of water if it’s a hot day, none at the top. Take breaks if you need them! Path is well owned but you’re gaining a few hundred metres of elevation in a relatively short amount of time.
The cave tour at the top is a 2km guided tour in the expansive cave. That part of the tour took about 45 min. Depending on the wait time for the tour the full experience is 2-3hrs.
