Comment: When traveling, they should have correct updated information about the Ferry very inconvenient when you just need to be right on the other side And they say is running when it isn’t then have to go 45 minutes all the way around. Very frustrating.

Comment: Never would I ever think that New Orleans DOTD would do a better job than an outside hired company. Trans Dev is a joke. The employees are rude and will throw down the gate when they see you coming down the ramp, trying to get on. They leave with two cars on the ferry instead of waiting 3 seconds for the three cars coming down the ramp. I just had them leave after 2 minutes of docking. The left before the cars that just unloaded even left the ramp!!! I hate having to use this ferry company. It’s a joke!!! I’ll do like everyone else and save my 6 bucks and drive around. At least DOTD with the old way had a schedule.

Comment: I would rate a 0 if I could.
Let’s start with price:
Rated 0/5
I remember the price from Chalmette was free, and only a dollar from the west bank. The number of passengers or axels didn’t matter, it was always just a dollar. How money hungry do you have to be? $2 per driver, and an additional $1 per passenger. Plus they charged me a dollar just for my car.
The service:
0/5
Every employee is rude! If you ask a question, get ready for your answer to be from a smart ass with an attitude problem.
Convenienice:
1/5
Only rated a 1 because it saves me from driving all the way around, since I live rought down the street from the ferry. If they’re only 3 cars on the boat, they will leave before you get a chance to drive to the ramp. These people simply just don’t care. I don’t know how they got their job to begin with.
1 out of a possible 15 points, or .06%. Not even 1% effective. That’s sad, especially when people rather drive all the way around. Since they tore down the toll booths on the westbank, they need to get rid of the ferry all together. Invest in a bridge connecting Chalmette to the Westbank, it would be worth every penny. Even if they charged $1 to cross that bridge, they would make their money back, and it would be well worth it!
