Comment: Worth the trip on the motorcycle, very fast rotation of ferry’s, we waited 15 min the most, had to take a ride around the island and stop at Tom’s burned down cafe

Comment: The ferry ride to Madeline island was wonderful and beautiful! Convenient too! Leaving every hour…the 20 minute crossing is lovely. Nice views from the upper deck and comfy in your car odd it’s colder! The staff was friendly and made the Adventure easy and memorable!

Comment: You will want to add this to your itinerary if you are visiting the area. Our experience was smooth & fast. The distance over to the island seems to take no time at all and since the car ferry is limited to just over a dozen vehicles, loading & unloading is pretty quick too.

The island is fun to explore, from hiking trails, to a few places to jump into Lake Superior. It is a cool way to make the most of your visit.

Comment: Recently took the Madeline Island Ferry for our camping trip at Big Bay State Park. The workers at both ends were efficient and made getting on and off the ferry very easy— I was impressed. They quickly loaded and unloaded cars, oversized vehicles, pedestrians, and bikers. The ride was just over 20 minutes— not bad!! I would say we waited between 15 and 20 minutes from the time we arrived at the ferry to boarding it.

I did think that the ride was slightly expensive. For a family of 3, driving a truck and pulling a standard pop-up camper it cost us $122 for a round trip ticket. However, this wouldn’t deter me from doing this trip again!
