Comment: This is mis-named, the terminal services the Crofton to Salt Spring Island run. Yes you can get a second ferry from Salt Spring Island to Vancouver but a faster route would be to drive up to Nanaimo. Biggest downside of this terminal is the parking area which means often you sit on the road in a queue, simply means you cannot really leave your car for long periods if the terminal is moving cars onto the wharf area. Great staff and very helpful and friendly.

Comment: It’s a ferry service that is part of our provincial highway system. It’s also located in a location that is not ideal for the ever increasing traffic loads as more people move to the gulf islands and even more tourists come to visit.
If you’re hauling livestock be aware that the entire road and lanes with the exception of the trestle is on a downward incline that is steeper at the parking lanes. If you have animals that will find a sailing wait difficult on that angle aim to arrive early enough to be one of the first vehicles waiting so you can park on the trestle where its level.
The terminal itself is small, there are no indoor spaces. There is however a park right beside the terminal and wheelchair accessible washrooms in the building south of the terminal booth.
Also be advised that due to the global marine worker shortage, a wash of job changes and retirement through the pandemic, the way BC Ferries does their hiring, and a serious housing crisis on Salt Spring Island where this ferry route originates requiring ferry workers to live on the island, Ferries have been experiencing regular half and full day sailing cancelations on little notice due to not having enough available certified workers to operate the ferry. In these cases, a foot passenger boat is sourced but if you need your vehicle on crossing you will have to wait until the Ferries are running again.

Comment: Cute small ferry terminal. I was a walk on and there was only a few other people who walked on so I got on very quickly and the ferry back from Salt spring is free.

Comment: The Crofton BC Ferries terminal is a fantastic terminal. Although it needs upgrading to keep up with the upward trend in demand, there are still many things about it right now that are very good. The staff working at the terminal (and on the ferry) are friendly, helpful and professional. Terminal traffic is well-organized and dealt with in an effective manner. The ferry ride over to Salt Spring Island provides some absolutely spectacular views. If you are looking to get to the mainland, take the ferry from the Duke Point, Departure Bay, or Swartz Bay terminals; this ferry doesn’t take you to the Mainland. It will take you to Salt Spring Island, and you can get to the Mainland from Salt Spring, but you have to take a ferry from the terminal on the other side of the island. Overall, the Crofton Ferry Terminal is a great terminal. But every person in Crofton and on Salt Spring Island is greatly looking forward to when construction begins on the new terminal!
