Comment: A nostalgic way to feel some sea breeze, enjoy a harbour view and use public transport to travel between two central areas of the city. Think less modern, more vintage… there are collections of life jackets, steep ramps, air conditioned and open air sections. It’s a short trip of 10 minutes plus 5 minutes or so to wait and board. Not enough time to get seasick, fortunately. A small number of toilets are located on the ferry and more at the piers.

Comment: Tsim Sha Tsui Ferry pier

One of the best natural resources of HK and it brings many economic advantages since
long time ago.
Hence, it is good for travelling by locals and tourists, either to reminiscence or just to take in the unique world class scenery . The immediate impact is the panorama view of
Both HK island, Peninsula on both ends from the ferry admis the Victoria Harbour.
All these beautiful views are available in all weathers , different for day and night and never fail to impress.

Unfortunately the ride is only for 5 minutes because the habour distance between the piers on both sides of HK and Kowloon has been shortened by many reclamations during the past years.
It is an inexpensive and memorable experiences giving excitement and surprises non-stop while travelling on board the ferry.

Comment: Alternative method in traveling to Central. Very cheap which you can pay with your octopus or credit card.

Good experience if you haven’t tried it yet. Best time to go would be night time or sunset

Comment: An alternative mode of transportation between Hong Kong Island and Kowloon Peninsula, the ferry runs frequently and it’s affordable (should be around HKD5).

You can choose between two destinations: Central or Wan Chai, depending on your destination. Just tap in with your Octopus card. We opted for Wan Chai pier, near to the MTR Island line for our journey back to the North Point area.

The view was pleasant. We boarded slightly after 5pm and the ferry wasn’t crowded.

Keep in mind the last ferry departs around 11.30pm, heading to Central Pier only. We catch the last ferry after our supper and a stroll along the Avenue of Stars. But it’s a long walk to the MTR from Central Pier, so plan ahead accordingly.
