Comment: Highlight of our day driving to Lexington. Beautiful winding road along Tate Creek to this unique, historic ferry. Reminds you of a bygone era. Operating since the late 1780’s. Efficient, historical, and free! Be sure to check out the small park on the western side of the river. It has a vertical marker with flood levels from past years. 1977 defies belief. Highly recommend!

Comment: What a great historical attraction. The staff are super friendly and welcoming.
We learned this has been in place since before KY became a commonwealth. The ferry flies a United States along with one from Virginia and Kentucky.
It is an amazingly beautiful drive to the ferry and a short ride. So glad we went both ways, as the view is different from each side.
You are required to stay in your vehicle, and it accommodates 3 at a time. When we were there at Noonish on Saturday there was no wait and we were full each time.
Definitely a fantastic and free opportunity to ferry across the river.
