Comment: Pretty nice ferry, clean and appears to be well maintained. We took the early departure so not crowded at all and for a little extra charge they hauled our bikes also. Another advantage of coming early was there was plenty of parking right by the dock. Of course we were here in September so Summer months may be a lot different.

Comment: We really wanted to ride this ferry and experience the islands, but it was hard to get in touch with the ferry service. We drove down to Southeast Harbor and had a hard time even finding the ferry dock (back and forth a few times, until we saw this sign on a neighbor’s fence). Once we found the narrow track leading to the parking lot, the only information available was from a rain-warped, handwritten dry erase board propped up onto the dock railing. No one was around, no kiosk, no daily updates on weather or times (the dry erase board looked like it had been there for ages). We left because we weren’t sure the ferry was running (it was raining and windy). I totally get this is a tiny town and tiny ferry service, but an update to the 21st century might be in order.

Comment: We had a fantastic day with the help of Cranberry Cove Ferry. We left Southwest Harbor on the first ferry and split the day between Islesford and Great Cranberry. The captain and crew were super nice, happy to answer questions, and help folks on and off the boat. At each of our stops the boat was on time and departed without delay.
