Comment: Could have been a bridge.
Get a second ferry, line them end to end and it pretty much would be a bridge. We have the technology and bridges don’t close at 4pm.
Also why is there an outhouse on the ferry anyway? Any charm it had was lost. Who needs to use the restroom on a 15 second ferry ride?
Was gonna call a meeting to discuss this with the local council, but I realized it would be better handled as an email. Much like this ferry would be better handled by being a bridge.

Comment: I wish zero stars were available. Whoever was working the ferry on July 19 2024 at 4 pm tried to kill my family and I. We were canoeing and paddled up to ferry. It was stopped on the right side of road. We looked and no cars were in line to board. We start to paddle across and they turn engine on and start to come across. My family and I started frantically paddling backwards but we were too close. We hit the side of the boat. My daughter then hit us while in her boat. We grabbed the side of the ferry and pulled ourselves to the other end of ferry and again frantically paddled away from boat. There we no cars trying to board so there was no reason for the ferry to even change sides. I have filled a formal complaint.

Comment: A really neat little paddlewheel based ferry on the Green River. Only holds up to 3 cars per trip but it is very quick so there is little delay. With excellent parking to access the Echo River Spring Trail with the White’s Cave entrance and several easy to medium trails it is a simple 2 miles of a loop. All located on the grounds of the Mammoth Caves National Park. Take the dog (on a leash) and enjoy the 2 mile walk.

Comment: Cool little ferry across the Green River. Used it going from Nolin Lake State Park to the Mammoth Cave Visitor center. Free to use, takes about 2 minutes. Wasn’t a wait, we used it during mid December so definitely off tourist season. Kids thought it was awesome!

Comment: How can you not give this a 5 star rating? Stay in your car and get across the Green River. Maximum 2 cars on ferry per trip. If their are kids in the car they emwill love it like blowing a car horn in a tunnel.
