Comment: Horrible experience. My mother was treated as a criminal over a sandwich. All because she wasn’t hungry on the plane, she didn’t eat it. She was already through customs. And some asshole made her go back, the airport inspecting staff, told her she should have ate it or she shouldn’t have brought it with her. All she said is know for next time. Took her passport and said they were going to report her as an aggressive person. She only said 5 words. “I know for next time”

Comment: Nice and small airport. It is really comfortable and also it has a coffee shop and a souvenir shop.
You can get flights from here to Mexico City, Cancún and many parts of the US with cheap airlines or not so cheap.
You will need to ride a taxi to get here and you will also need to get a taxi (from the ones in the same airport) to go to Morelia (which is a 20 minute ride). Ubers are not allowed to either enter the airport, take this into account.

Comment: EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED with the TSA kids. They are all so young , laughing and playing around while supposed to be taken this job very seriously. I watched nobody’s bag get dug into except for mine , just for the little girl to take all of my personal hygiene products out of my bag a tell me I cannot take them. EVEN THOUGH I CAME WITH THEM , then proceeds to say the US airport must not have did a good job checking our bags in which they did a way more thorough search on EVERYONES BAG. Mind you these items contained LESSSS than the 3.4 oz requirements for carry on. These items consisted of deodorant , Victoria secret body spray & bath and body works spray. TSA proceeded to try to read my ENGLISH labels and decide whether or not I can take certain things…. This in NOT the American airline policy and will be effecting the decision to choose this airline when going to specific airports as such.

Comment: First the good things:
It’s a small airport. There’s only one departure area, so you don’t get lost.
Taxis to the city are not too expensive considering that the airport is about 30 miles from city center.
The not so good things:
There are no boarding bridges, so all boarding and deplaning is done through stairs. So you hope, it’s not raining.
The passport control area needs more signaling; people can’t easily figure out where to go, unless an officer directs them.
Baggage claim takes a long time even for a small plane. If your carry-on luggage was tagged an put in the cargo, you will need to collect it at the carousel.
Fares tend to be substantially higher for international flights than for other airports in Mexico
