Comment: Shepler’s kinda has a monopoly over the ferry business here. There are other options but none with the regular scheduling as Shepler’s. I wish it cost less, but the whole island of Mackinac is basically a tourist spot, so I’m not surprised.
They were punctual and professional. The boats are fast and they captain it like a speed boat, even drifting around corners. The ride took like 20 minutes and surprisingly little lake spray even while sitting on the upper deck.
Make sure to check what times they do the longer route under Mackinac Bridge. No extra charge but they only do it a couple times a day (towards the end when I went).
Parking on this side is free for one day. If you’re staying overnight or multiple nights, they do charge you. Many hotels have a shuttle service too, but they’re all within walking distance.

Comment: Loved using this ferry service to get to the island. The wait time wasn’t long at all going from St. Ignace to the island. The sun was shining and the water was calm on the way to the island so it was a great day to catch the ship. We caught the 9 AM ferry which took us right under the bridge. I recommend doing one of the time frames to go under and learn a little history on the bridge. Recommend buying passes in advance too, to save a little bit of money. We enjoyed using this service and I am sure we will use it again when we come back.

Comment: Shepler’s is always a great experience. The crew is friendly, attentive, and professional. You can purchase tickets online ahead of time. There is plenty of parking and a small waiting area with a restroom. If you wish to sit on the upper deck on the ferry, it can be cold and windy; I would recommend a light sweater. If you have the chance to take the Mighty Mac crossing, it is a great opportunity to learn a bit of history about the Mackinac Bridge and to get some fantastic photos directly under the bridge. The crossing to and from St. Ignace is typically less crowded than the one to and from Mackinac City.

Comment: Sheer’s Ferry Service offers free pickup from area campgrounds and hotel/motels. We were picked up at Lake Shore Campground. Wait time was very reasonable.
The ferry itself was clean with excellent staff. It ran quite frequently and our wait for the next crossing was more minimal. At one instance where many passengers were returning simultaneously they added additional boats. This shows that they care about their customers.
We used the service more than once and look forward to using them again.

Comment: I utilized the Shepler’a Mackinac Island Ferry Service today. To start with, they offered an easy to use web site to purchase tickets on. The web site also offered many different options. And at the hotel I stayed at, the hotel had a discounted rate. At the hotel I stayed at, Shepler’s offered and pick up and return option which made it a very easy to handle.feature. The driver of the shuttle was great and the crew on the boat was awesome. A great value to get to Mackinac Island.
