Comment: One of the few free things in Amsterdam is this great ferry (line F2) that takes you from one side of the river to the other and leaves you at central train station which is close to the city centre. It runs every 5-8 minutes and during the day there are 2 ferries performing this route. It stops at midnight. Line F3 which is also close, runs on a 24 hour basis

Comment: F2 line as all GVB pont lines are free of charge. The only problem with F2 is that most of the times instead of following the normal schedule they decide to only have one running ferry instead of 2 which changes the schedule from every 5 minutes to every 10 minutes even during peak hours. That causes long waiting and of course crowds during peak hours. That was during the whole summer. Winter seems to be better and more accurate.
