Comment: First time travelling with Balearia and I doubt we will travel with them again. This is a long review but there are things that need saying. My partner and I took our car and dog from Valencia to Palma de Mallorca on a return trip. The biggest problem we had was regarding our beloved dog. Balearia sell their ferry as pet friendly, going as far as to use the phrase VIP, Very Important Pets. An absolute lie, which is why I’ve posted videos to show how appalling the accommodation is for pets. They also claim that they are monitored but they are not. One member of crew paid a visit to the dog cages once during the 8 hour return journey. Calm Kennels is the name they use to describe these metal cages but leaving your pet in one of these for the duration of the journey would be nothing short of animal cruelty. These cages are outside on deck 6 at the rear of the boat where all the noise is. The noise is horrendous and the vibrations cause the doors on the pet cages to relentlessly rattle. The outbound journey was night time and luckily the weather was fine and the sea was calm. I’d hate to think how much our pets would suffer during bad weather on these ferries. After unsuccessfully trying to get some sleep in the less than comfortable Neptuno seats also located at the rear of the boat where all the noise is, I spent the night upstairs on deck 6 with my traumatised dog on an uncomfortable wooden bench. The return journey was daytime and and we spent the 8 hour journey keeping our dog company in the hot sun. Another couple had to do the same as their dog refused to go in the cage. Of course, there’s no shade out on deck. We arrived in valencia bored, fed up, tired and sunburnt.
The boat itself seems old, it’s too hot in the seating areas and far too noisy to relax. The food isn’t too bad and both outbound and inbound trips were on time.
I get the impression that Balearia are saying, ‘if you love your pet, get a cabin’ but if we had booked a cabin for both trips, it would have cost us nearly 600 euros for two people, a car and a dog for 17 hours of slow, noisy travel and that’s extortionate.

Comment: Shocking!
This port is not prepared for foot passengers. Signage is missing / wrong; expect to cross train tracks and busy roads.
