Comment: —- For Foot Passengers —-
The whole port area can seem pretty hostile to passengers on foot. Everything is fenced off, there’s always a lot of construction work going on and there are very few walkways and signs for pedestrians. I’ve attached the exact route I took, in case someone else is looking for it. It was more or less suitcase friendly but I’d recommend a backpack (or just take a taxi to the terminal, if you can afford it). The walk will take at least 15 minutes from the closest bus station, but I’d recommend planning more time, in case you get stuck somewhere in front of a random fence. There is no shuttle service (or alike) to the train station, just the occasional public bus. Otherwise the terminal is pretty bleak but functional. You will find toilets, seats, nice staff and something to drink if the bar is open. The boarding started exactly on time (Irish Ferries to Dublin) and was very efficient for foot passengers. We had a shuttle service onto the vessel which was very welcome with a lot of luggage.
All in all a bit nerve-wracking on foot but it worked out just fine!

Comment: Very slow. Arrived on time, but entry queues hardly move. Maybe it’s more important to arrive on time at peak times.
Road markings could be a lot clearer after the first kiosk, but they are just about good enough. Just follow the queues, if there are any!

Comment: At 8am, a lonely place to greet visitors. The café-bar opened at 8.30, which was very welcome and no doubt livens things up during the day. Parking is easy but difficult to find the exit, hidden amongst all the road works.

Comment: Made a return journey from Rosslare to Cherbourg with Stena on the Stena Horizon.
Family of 5 in a 6 berth cabin.
Non eventful sailing each way. Cabin gets very warm and bring a picnic as the food was rubbish on the ferry.
