Comment: POSITANO IS A BIG TOURISTS TRAP.
I am Italian and I strongly advise against visiting this place; it will only ruin your day. The place is nice, but nothing exceptional. Positano lacks sufficient infrastructure to handle the mass of tourists; expect to end up in crowds, wait for hours for everything, encounter absurd prices, stifling heat, and no alternative options to choose from. Low-quality stuff sold at prices like starred restaurants, nothing against it except there’s no choice. The transport services are highly unreliable; many people are left stranded. The port is not suitable for disembarkation, with a compact mass of people trying to figure out which boat to board. Boarding is too risky if the weather is not perfect.Trust me, go elsewhere and don’t ruin your vacation.

Comment: A stunning seaside town with a nice selection of beautiful shops, restaurants & bars. A good atmosphere also. The main downside to this picturesque town is the cost here – everything is ridiculously expensive. From getting a drink, to lunch/dinner options and to even getting a seat on the beach – places are charging over €35 per person.
The tourist side is the main front where the beach and port is. All the hustle and bustle is here, the main buzz with bars, restaurants, excursion stalls and the main beach.
I tend to recommend steering away from here if you prefer a little less noise, and a less tourist feel to the place where you can soak in everything there is to love about Positano – from a distance, less touristy, less noise but still great choices and a short stunning walk to the main area.
If you walk upwards away from the main center, you’ll go into a more residential area that has several restaurants with absolute stunning views on offer. It is here you will also find an alternative beach to the main one located adjacent to the ferry port which is very busy and more expensive.

Strolling through narrow streets reveals charming boutiques and delicious restaurants. The beach, with its azure waters, is a relaxing haven. Positano’s beauty and ambiance make it a dreamy destination for any traveler.

Comment: Positano is a must visit place. We took a ferry from Capri to Postino, it was less than a hour ride. Ferry terminal also has shops and cafes. Positano tow itself is very beautiful, will hilly area and spectacular views. There are many shops in the town for shopping.
