Comment: I have never stood in a long queue. The port is well organised. The ferry (Stena Line) is comfortable, with cabins for pet owners. I recommend it to anyone who is going to have a very long journey around Europe. The cabins are quiet and peaceful, you can get a good night’s sleep.

Comment: The Harwich —> Hook of Holland ferry is such a step up from Dover. Not surprising as there are only 2 crossings per day, so less traffic. And an 8 hour journey. Even the drive here is so much easier. Staff very friendly both at check in, parking and on-board Stena. Cabins are fantastic with great en-suite showes. Food and beer selection good. Just be ready at 06:30 Dutch time for the wake-up announcement!

Comment: Taken the ferry to Hook of Holland from Harwich many times and always gone very smoothly. Staff are very friendly and facilities are very good with clean toilets. We also spent the night in our campervan parked in the check in lanes for free. Arrived at 11pm the evening before our 09:00 ferry.

Comment: Always travel with DFDS from Dover and never had issues. Decided to use this route this year. My departure was 9am and I got there 8:30. They didn’t let me in as they said the check in closed. It’s half an hour before the departure. So disappointing which I had to wait for 24 hours with 3 kids to be able to get on the next one and I have to pay again. For sure will never use this port and the Stena Line again and will not recommend it either. Such rip offs.
