Comment: It’s a bit tight on the entry, and you have to cross traffic to follow the road to the actual ferry. We’re on board, not much vegan options but they do have alternative milk . Fingers crossed for a smooth sailing .
Not sure how we’ll embark as they parked us in front of an obstruction and it’s a big caravan . We will wait and see.
The seats are comfortable and we snagged a quiet corner. It’s raining so I doubt I’ll stay outside much. But hopefully I’ll get some DSLR photos

Comment: OMG the best sailing, food and service. Quick on at Wellington on the 30th May and quick off in Picton. The knowledge and service by Anthony, keep him on for sure, valued with service with a smile. I also witnessed other staff who went above and beyond passengers requests. Thank you.

Comment: Ferry from Picton to Wellington onboard the MV Connemara. The ship departed on time and arrived on time. The ship was comfortable and for an extra $40, I booked a two-person cabin for privacy and to take a nap. Private bathroom and even a shower with power outlets and a small desk. Nice and quiet plus I had a secure place to leave my stuff while wandering. You sure don’t want a rollaboard suitcase on deck!

There was entirely too much waiting at both ends, starting with “last call” an hour before the departure. Why are the walk-ons sitting in the departure area for an hour? And why was it a half hour from “wake up call” until the walk-ons could depart the ship? What a waste of time to be the absolute last to leave!

Food and drink on board is expensive. Do yourself a favor and stop at a convenience store on the way to the port and stock up. Note that you are not allowed to drink alcohol that you’ve brought on board.

Wifi worked well enough the whole time across the strait.

Comment: Really reasonable prices for food and drink, was expecting a tourist trap. A large meal is so huge and about $19. $10ish for a wine or premix drink.
Great views from the top deck. Movie was wilderpeople.
Staff were pleasant and everything went very easily. Was $66 for walk on person ticket.

Comment: Beautiful way to travel from either of the islands. We travelled from south to north. Had a delay on leaving but overall great experience. Easy on and off with the car. We didn’t eat on board but the people next to us had the nachos that looked very good and generous.
