Comment: Convenient and easy to use! The fare is €3.50 one way, and you can pay by cash in euros. It’s easy to board with your luggage, and the boat timetable aligns perfectly with the train schedule. If you’re just visiting for a day trip, you can also store your luggage at the boat station. Very helpful service!

Comment: The boat service is used mainly to transfer passengers from the train station to the village centre, however it’s also a cheap and fun way to get a feeling of the lake – if the boat tour isn’t available. It’s €7 and you can stay on the boat both ways for a nice ride.

The boat station is located right next to the train station, so it’s easy to find. The ferries are small and quaint, and they offer a great view of the lake and the surrounding mountains. The journey is a pleasant way to start or end your visit to Hallstatt.
