Comment: After missing our ferry from Santander we rebooked ( was surprised how hassle free the change of route and day was online too) and travelled on Bilbao- Portsmouth crossing April 15, 2023. It was our first time on this route and it was excellent from the start to finish. The check in was speedy and quick, the loading was quick and we departed on time and arrived in the UK on time. Once on board we were greeted with a welcome drink and a sweetie for the kids- really nice touch. The Boat was lovely, the cabin was nice, clean and had very comfy beds. The restaurant food was lovely and the set menu was reasonably priced. We also had the lounge upgrade which is definitely worth it. Plenty of snacks and drinks available at all times. Absolutely made our crossing even more enjoyable. There are small play areas for kids which is great for lengthy crossings and another play area at the top deck. I found the staff were also very helpful and courteous. Just a nice experience and will most definitely use the service again.

Comment: How to get here by public transportation from Bilbao:
1. Take the metro to Santurtzi.
2. Take bus A3321 to El Calero (don’t follow Google’s suggestion to go farther)
3. Walk ~10 minutes down the hill and into the port area. Watch out for fast moving trucks!
4. Look for the ferry terminal next to the cafe.
Note: it is good to arrive 1.5 hours before departure.

Comment: Cafes weren’t open through out day, limited entertainment and very rocky. However cabins are comfortable and decently sized.

Comment: Great cafe fortunately as their are no shops or anything at the port* other than people waiting for a ferry. Once aboard and the sea isn’t rough, well you can go walk about the decks, enjoy the bar and sleep in your nice cabin”nice
cer crossing if their was a cinema film choice to watch .
