Comment: I’ve been coming to Bolivar Peninsula and Galveston for years. The ferry has always been a fun event for my kids as “home” doesn’t have large bodies of water that need ferry access.
In any case, the wait to load the ferry can be, at times, excruciating, but loading and unloading are fairly quick. The ferry trip is short and enjoyable. And, if you are lucky, you will see wild dolphins!

Comment: This is a good way to travel to Galveston Island.
Enjoy a great trip, be patient because you have to wait for some time.

Comment: Can be long wait times. There are priority people who get to board 1st. We waited about 30 min to get back to Galveston. Not much to do here but we like to experience everything. We drove on the beach.Fort Travis is ok. You can’t go in or on it like some forts.

Comment: Well, the first time we crossed, we sat in line for an hour and a half. Several ferrys loaded and left before they got us on, and we were not at the back of any of the lines.
The second time was much better but we got there by 9:30 am instead of the 12:30 the previous time.
