Comment: Aside from the convenience of taking the ferry and all…. Out of all the times I’ve taken this ferry too and from, this day in particular I had a horrible experience. The guy working on the vessel directing vehicles to their respective areas, he was as rude and disrespectful as all get out. I’m sorry, but if you hate your job or life that much don’t take it out on everyone else because it ain’t our fault your having an intolerable behavior. I’ve never had a horrible experience with this vessel before now however it’s the first I’ve seen this guy and honest hope it’s the last as it’s unacceptable behavior to get rude with a customer that’s not done anything to have required said behavior!

Comment: Comfortable 10 min ferry ride to continue our auto tour of country coastal roads along Gulf of Mexico from Freeport TX, along the length of Galveston Island including the Seawall drive, downtown and the Harbor area. After ferry trip, drove thru Bolivar, Winnie, Port Arthur, and continued along Lousiana Gulf Coast to Houma, then toured the back roads of the bayou country.
A fun trip.

Comment: It has been three years since I last rode this ferry. It sure has changed. It holds many more cars now, but the wait time and loading time are still fast. It is sort of a drive on and wrap around parking situation. Try to avoid shift change for the construction crews working at the new LNG plant, or you can be in for a wait, we got there at 4 pm and had to sit for a while; I forgot to ask if they were working 8 or 12 hour shifts. When we were driving into Louisiana 5 days earlier, we got there after the morning shift change and the ferry wait was next to no time at all.

The fees are, as I understand them, standard for Louisiana. Free one way.

Comment: Didn’t know we were crossing a body of water on a ferry: but going east it was free. It was simple and fast – a matter of good timing for us. The crew worked fast and efficiently to get it all loaded.
