Comment: Visited Fort Robinson, Fur Museum and the Toadstool Geologic Park while camping at Chadron State Park. So much to do and so much history in this area, wish I had stayed longer. The Trading Post has yummy snacks and friendly faces. The people that work here are wonderful! The camp hosts were exceptionally helpful, friendly and kept the restrooms and grounds extremely clean.
I will say that I was disappointed to have to pay for my shower! $0.25/minute is mighty steep and I already paid for the campsite!

Comment: This park is a must visit in Nebraska. Probably one of the cleanest parks I have ever been too. I did not stay the night camping here but there were so many sites. I did two hikes in the park and both went out to ridgeline for great views. The paths were pretty clear and the one trail – Steamboat – had a freshly mown path. Same thing can’t be said for Fort Robinson SP trails! I saw just few people on a Saturday morning in late August. Bathrooms were nice and clean.

Comment: Chadron was our 3rd camp on trip and only stayed 2 nights. Very pretty scenery and fairly easy hiking trails. Only 1 area is for tents. This park felt more like a resort. The few staff that I dealt with was super friendly. My only complaint was the sound of the highway! Trucks can echo pretty loud at campsite. That’s why I only gave 4-star.

Comment: This is Nebraska’s first state park and it is a gem. All kinds of things to do, shooting range, archery range, pool, cabins, fishing, lots of trails and they do horseback trail rides several times a day. We had a blast on our short visit. My horse was “Big John” and my Daughter rode “Bubba”.

Comment: Wonderful State Park (sunset picture is outside of the park). A great find on my way to Chadron and other destinations. Had to stop and wasn’t disappointed.
