Comment: I was having a horrible day, riding before a hurricane and getting pummeled by the difficult roads along the southern shore. That all changed when I took the ferry and the nicest lady conductor escorted me across the bay, giving me local advice and cheering me up. I wish the trip was longer. A bright memory on a dreary day.

Comment: There is no charge for this ferry service and it is a worthwhile experience. The ferry staff were friendly and knowledgable about the area. It is a lovely nice new cable ferry. Be aware that the ferry runs on the half hour, leaving the eastern side on the hour and the western side half hour. It is a good idea to check to be sure the ferry is operating, so check before you start down the road to the ferry (There is a sign saying if the ferry is not operating).
