Comment: We had a wonderful time in a 4 person cabin for an overnight Ferry from Oslo to Copenhagen. There are several bars with live music, entertainment or just background music. One very large tax free market is on board. There are many bars with many drinks available. There is usually something for everyone and it is a nice change of pace for travel.

Comment: We travelled round trip between Copenhagen and Oslo. The rooms were surprisingly comfortable for being so space efficient and the ride was smooth and very enjoyable. The shops, activities and restaurants were all quite nice. The Italian restaurant was actually excellent and we were very impressed with the pizza. Thin crust, stringy melty cheese, tasty toppings, and expertly charred. The gnocchi was also good with a very fresh tomato flavor but it was the pizza that was really exceptional.

Comment: To DFDS Terminal : I took the the S train- and disembarked at osterport, from osterport I took the bus 27 and was dropped just opposite to the DFDS terminal, was super easy and cost saving.
I recommend this public transport rather than the shuttle offered by DFDS but again depends on your situation.

Checkin: I had booked the Commodore class cabin, the departure was at 3pm, but I arrived at 1pm and checked in, it was pretty smooth and no Q, within no time I was in the cabin with a beautiful sea view. was really happy as the cabin was ready so early to check in.
I also heard that some interior cabins were not ready and the guests were asked to wait at the reception.

rooms: Commodore class rooms with sea view are good, spacious double bed, just nice for 2. had 2 chairs and a table. the toilet was neat and tidy.
got a complimentary water bottles and champagne (only cph-oslo), nothing in return trip.
The pillows are bad, they should have provided atleast 2 more or should have to changed to a firm ones.

Complimentary breakfast : very nice , delicious and many varieties to choose.
friendly and helpful staff.

Pool and hot water tubs at deck 10: the best thing to do on this journey is to relax in the hot water tubs and pool,we spent lot of time playing and relaxing with kids.

Restaurants :We tried the Italian one, the pizza and drinks were good , the price was acceptable and you get a free child meal (Below 3 only)

Bubbles area for kids: some good entertainment for kids with drawing papers and pens and other stuff, my kid was there for an hour and she enjoyed it, 6+ children were having more fun with games like treasure hunting etc.

there is a paid pool in bubbles area for kids and adults , but i preferred the one in deck 10.

overall a must try one time experience, the views as you get closer to oslo is awesome, the sunrise and sunset is a never miss.

I am not sure if I would return in near time but may be after few years I might try again.

Comment: Don’t buy the dinner buffet or the breakfast buffet. Very low quality food. They charged you for water and don’t tell tourists upfront. If you are not a part of a tour group they relegated you to a lower quality area for breakfast and they don’t give you the same food from buffet. Smokers everywhere and they do not have other designated areas just for that. Ferry its all beat up and rooms are incredibly hot and they don’t even have fans. ️ good views from denmark to Norway 3 stars only

Comment: After flying into Copenhagen for a delightful stay, I decided to return to Oslo by ferry, departing from the DFDS Terminalen. It was my first time traveling by ferry between these two cities, and I must say, it was an experience that far exceeded my expectations.

The DFDS Terminal in Copenhagen was well-organized, and the check-in process was quick and efficient. Once onboard, I was pleasantly surprised by the range of amenities and the overall atmosphere. The ship had a welcoming ambiance, with cozy cabins that offered a relaxing space after days of exploring the city.

As we sailed, I enjoyed a leisurely dinner at one of the restaurants onboard, with a wonderful selection of food and drinks. One of the highlights was watching the sun set over the water from the deck – it was a beautiful sight and made the journey even more memorable.

The ferry also offered plenty of entertainment, but the peaceful vibe on deck, combined with the stunning views of the coastline, was more than enough for me. It was the perfect way to unwind and reflect on my time in Copenhagen.

The voyage from Copenhagen to Oslo was not just a means of travel but a part of the adventure itself. I arrived in Oslo feeling refreshed and grateful for the relaxing experience. If you’re ever considering a scenic and tranquil way to travel between these two cities, DFDS Terminalen is an excellent choice!
