Comment: We drove across the Confederation Bridge and then took the ferry back.
We roamed around while waiting for the ferry. Nice walk, great views. Gift shop staff friendly.

Comment: 2021-08-28 Covid check tents at the Wood Islands terminal for entering PEI. Only negative travelers are allowed to proceed. No distancing/mask required within the island, a pleasant surprise.

Comment: Drove from Cavendish to the ferry terminal. Got our ticket from the person in the booth and waited in line. 30 minutes later, they announced that the ferry was cancelled due to high winds. Surely the woman in the booth had an idea that the ferry was cancelled. We had a 2 year old in the car who was crying when we were at the booth, too. It would have been nice for a heads up so we could have started our 4 hour drive home. A little thinking outside the box/common sense goes a long way. So, we got home very late, our child had numerous meltdowns (6 hours in the car), my wife missed a prenatal appointment, we spent double in gas and had to spend money on another meal. HORRIBLE end to a mini 3 day vacation. I’m in no way blaming them for high winds, I’m just upset that there is absolutely no plan in place to give travelers a heads up. I provided my phone and email when I booked. How about a cancellation warning email or call. We won’t be taking the ferry anymore. Too risky.

Comment: We enjoyed our ferry ride. Loading and unloading of the ship seemed to go quickly. The trip was just long enough to be enjoyable without becoming tedious. There was good food for purchase on board.

Comment: They’ll take you’re money at the toll booth, and that’s about it. Food service rarely open, vending machines won’t vend, WiFi doesn’t work. There are bathrooms though.
