Comment: Our experience aboard the Finnmaid was quite mixed…
The boat is aging, and this is evident throughout the infrastructure, which could use some updating.
The food choices at the buffet were not very varied, and there were long lines because the buffet was not replenished evenly, so everyone had to queue in the same place.
Dogs are a real nuisance on the boat. Deck 7 smells very bad (we had to pass through Deck 7 to reach the reception and the car deck), and we could regularly hear barking even on Deck 8. This is very disturbing, and it’s time to find a solution so that everyone is not bothered by the disturbances caused by dogs.
A separate area dedicated specifically to families with children should be set up in the restaurant because it’s unpleasant to be disturbed by children screaming and crying during mealtime. The same goes for the wellness area—it’s stressful to be kicked in the whirlpool and to hear children screaming. They should only be allowed in the wellness area during certain hours.
When we encountered a clogged toilet problem in our cabin, the staff was efficient and very understanding in finding a solution. Thanks to them!

Comment: Cabins were disgusting. Not clean at all. The restaurant was ok. Not a wide range of hot foods. Children’s play room is nice. They have a sauna and a pool but the water is cold.

Comment: I guess it depends very much on the weather but we had a great time! (July) Booking and boarding was very efficient.
Pros – Outside cabin had plenty of space
Cons – Buffet food is, well, buffet food. Very expensive for the quality but hey, buffet = quantity over quality!

Comment: Terrible service. Took a booking and then canceled a ticket, even they new in advance it will be no sailing, because they planned ship maintenance on that day. No compensation for hotels,no even a cabin upgrade for inconvenience. Good start of a holiday.Not.

Comment: The cabins are ok as is the whole ship. Would need some updates in style and comfort. Arriving in Helsinki with ice on the water is special.
