Comment: Arguably the best, shortest, most exhilarating side wheeler river experience! Two cars at a time one direction at a time. There are no signal lights. Mind the oncoming traffic and proceed slowly at the ramp. Transit time is ~2 minutes but depends on the river level.

Comment: We started at the Dennison ferry floated 7 miles down to the green river ferry. What a great adventure! It’s definitely 4-5 hours with some resting spots on banks and islands. Be aware we had no cell phone service so if your brave enough to do it without the shuttle for your kayaks, take 2 cars! Park at the green river ferry and Dennison ferry

Comment: If you come to Mammoth cave, you must visit this place together. The Green River crossing by car is a slow, five-minute ride, but it will make you feel like a traveler who once journeyed across the river in search of the frontier.
There used to be seven ferry crossings in the park, but now this is the only one open to the public.

Comment: We were in the area and just thought we would stop by and see what this was about. It’s neat to see an old fashioned ferry in operation, taking people from one side of the river to the other.
If you are in the Mammoth Cave area you need to take the short drive here and take a look. There is parking and a scenic overlook.

Comment: During the slow tourism season and when weather is good the ferry gets 5 stars. During peak tourism times, the ferry is a massive inconvenience for locals that need the ferry on a daily basis to cut as much as 45 minutes off of their travel times to work. Would be great off they would just build a bridge already.
