Comment: Five stars compared to the visitor-accessible portions of major US cave systems such as Carlsbad, Mammoth, Laurel & Shenandoah. Not as deep as Carlsbad but similar in size of major vaults. Private tour takes about an hour. Paid 100 pesos ($6.50 USD) per person up-front for admission, tipped our animated guide 300 pesos at the end of the tour. Caves are well-lit and unlike in the US, you can touch everything. Past site of a mammoth dig. Few visitors. Off-the-map just on the edge of Teapa, which is 45 minutes south of the capital city of Villahermosa in the Mexican state of Tabasco. Also bought a cinnamon tree and a guanabana tree (starter saplings) for 50 pesos each. If you’re into caves, these won’t disappoint!

Comment: This is a nature wonder, the price is very low, so it is very worthy. It is hot and humid at the inside, try to bring confortable shoes because ir is also slippy. You will find little bats in the inside (don’t worry they are friendly). You can also find some other ecoturistic activities (rappel, zip line and hiking). I highly recommend this place.

Comment: The cave was beautiful and very interesting to explore. But I few things you should know:
1. You can’t just take a taxi there, you have to call and make reservation. We took a taxi from town and a man came out and started telling the taxi driver he can’t come there and that we needed a reservation.
2. I didn’t see anywhere online that you need a reservation but if you decide to go, research and find a number to call before you go

Since we arrived without a reservation, the guy who got mad at the taxi driver said he’ll take us. I’m not sure how this works if you call ahead and if you can take a self guided tour, but we had to pay 100 pesos for this tour.

All together we paid 500 pesos for the entrance and the tour for 2 people

There’s a collectivo you can take from town and walk about 10 min if you want to save money on taxi (also since you apparently can’t take one there)
