Comment: A spacious airport with a variety of eateries and cafes, but with some pain points. The biggest issue was security. It was painfully slow, with only two lanes open, and the process was not efficient at all. After passing through security, there seemed to be some construction underway to open a duty-free section. Beyond that, the airport has two levels with a variety of shops and restaurants.
The toilets, both airside and outside the security zone, were average. Compared to other GAP airports in Mexico, this one could use some updates to make them more modern. Another odd experience was after arriving at the airport by plane (a domestic flight), passing baggage claim, there were immigration officers and the Guardia Nacional checking passports and IDs. This was surprising, given that El Bajio is nowhere near the international border.
Overall, it’s a decent airport, but improvements could definitely enhance the airport experience.

Comment: León Guanajuato Airport is clean and modern. It is a charming and beautiful airport, making the waiting experience quite pleasant. There are plenty of bathrooms and good dining options available. For travelers with dollars, prices are very affordable. Overall, it is a wonderful airport.

Comment: Traveling to Mexico this was my final stop and my airport for heading home. Bajío as locals call it is one of my favorite airports! Calm clean atmosphere. Easy through customs and very friendly service. Cute shops to find some last minute gifts. I definitely try to use this airport when in GTO .
