Not only will you get a completely different view of Alaska, but you’ll also get to bring the kitchen sink with you. Load your car, truck, or RV onto the ferry. There are cabins for overnight sleeping or you can pitch a tent on the deck.

Comment: We took a quick trip from Homer to Seldovia for an outing today using the ferry at Homer. I had never ridden on a ferry, so I can check that one off my list. There was nothing special to the ride, although the scenery was beautiful. Between loading and ride time, we really didn’t leave us enough time to explore Seldovia. If I had it to do over again, I believe I would take one of the water taxis from Homer in the morning and leave myself more time to explore while returning on the ferry in the afternoon.
