Comment: I found the easiest way to reach Ischia is via ferry from Naples. So I made a plan to spend an hour in bella Napoli to grab lunch at Da Michele, which is a 15-minute walk (or a 5 minute taxi ride) from the train station. Julia Roberts has her pizza epiphany here in Eat, Pray, Love, and the traditional pizzeria’s cinematic fame is well deserved. Before the food coma has time to take hold, I jumped in a taxi for the ferry terminal. Ferries and hydrofoils (which are simply slightly faster and slightly more expensive boats) leave from the ports of Naples and Pozzuoli about every hour during peak season. Then I book a spot on the next boat to Ischia Porto. Arriving by sea provides an unforgettable first glimpse of the island and its characteristic port. I can advised you that if you are staying on this side of the island, drop your luggage at the hotel. Otherwise, some of the first shops near the ferry terminal offer “deposito bagagli” (luggage rooms) to store your bags for a few hours at a low cost while exploring the main town. Once well adjusted, make your way to Castello Aragonese. Connected to Ischia by a bridge, the castle sits on its own rocky islet. The first structure built here dates back to 471 BC, but most of the current castle was built in the 15th century. It is now privately owned, but you can explore the buildings and the gardens for a small admission fee. This is a very precious and wonderful spot but almost unknown.

Comment: Here is terminal 2 of ferry, but there is no map, no guideboard nor information. So you may have a lot of difficalty to find your ferry. I know Ischia is so good, nevertheless port is too bad.
