Comment: I road the mail boat to Ah Haut Island. The cost including parking was 80.00 for 2 days. Along the way I asked many questions. Some on the questions was why there is an American flag on a small rock island just outside Stonington it was because thats where the shoot fireworks on hollidays . Is Maine a big granite industry. The boats guide said the blocks are shipped south for buildings. I saw big piles of cut stone. How many live on the island on a perment basis, about 50 year around and 200 to 300 in the summer. The two guides one going and one coming from the island ansered each question with knowledg.

Comment: A more remote experience of Acadia National Park. The ferry takes 45 minutes to an hour, depending on which part of the island you’re visiting. You have to plan wisely so as not to miss the ferry home. We really enjoyed the Duck Harbor Mountain trail. Required some scrambling.
