Comment: Experience the beauty of Toronto’s stunning islands with a tip that will take your visit to the next level: Book your Tickets Online! By doing so, you’ll skip the waiting line and embark on a breathtaking journey right away. Trust me, it’s worth every moment!

Recently, I took a ferry ride to Centre Island, and it was an absolute delight. Departing from the Jack Layton Ferry Terminal, the awe-inspiring Toronto skyline unfolded before my eyes, It felt like a scene from a movie, leaving me in awe.

Booking your ticket covers both the outbound and return trips, offering convenience and affordability. For photography enthusiasts like myself, this experience is a dream come true. I highly recommend positioning yourself at the front of the line to secure the top spot on the boat. From there, you’ll have uninterrupted panoramic views, perfect for capturing the cityscape and the vastness of Lake Ontario. The best view is especially when the sun gracefully descended, painting the sky in captivating hues. Plan your return accordingly.

Remember to bring a light jacket, as it can get a bit chilly during the crossing. But don’t let that deter you from embarking on this unforgettable adventure. The journey itself takes around 15-20 minutes, providing ample time to savor the picturesque vistas of the Toronto skyline and the shimmering waters of Lake Ontario.

Upon reaching the islands, prepare yourself for an array of recreational activities. Centre Island, the largest among them, boasts picnic areas, sports fields, beautiful gardens, bike rentals, patios and a small beach. It’s a paradise for both the young and the young at heart.

Reason for 3 stars is the wait for returning was at least 1hr longer than when the ferry should’ve come in. The line for getting back was the worst there needs to be a better system than everyone rushing shoulder to shoulder and cutting people off.

Comment: Lots of public parking available near the Jack Layton Ferry terminal but its all very expensive ($30-$40). We usually park close to the Yonge Street and walk towards the ferry terminal. There are Water Taxis available and I usually prefer talking that over the big ferry to make it quick to the Island.

You can purchase the water taxi tickets on the spot and the service is very quick.

Comment: Easy accessible from the quay street and union station through Bay Street. Though it has enough space for passengers there are no inbuilt car parking for passengers. The visitors to Toronto Islands can buy the tickets from here too and can board to the center island and wards island ferries from here.

Comment: The ferry schedule is so behind the need in the summer. We had to wait for 30 minutes to get on the ferry for central island and another hour to get back. Honestly water taxis are way better.

Comment: This ferry service is brutal. There is only one ferry every hour in summer time and they fail to control how many people can get on a ferry so it happened to cut off bunch of people from the full ferry because they push people inside the waiting dock so dozens of people get stuck because the staff keep pushing and let more people in. Worst and worst ferry services. You can’t even get a refund once you get in the dock but miss the ferry then waiting for another one in one hour.
