Comment: The Jamestown Scotland ferry is a very nice 20 minute ride from Surry county to James City county or from James City county back to Surry county. it’s an especially nice ride in the spring, summer and the fall.
because of that time of year. vacations and people being off it tends to be a little bit crowded. During the winter season it’s still a very nice ride it’s just that by being on the water it’s a little bit cool, the best thing to do if you’re going to ride the ferry is try to get there a few minutes early before boarding time. that way you may be closer to the front of the line and hopefully you won’t miss that ferry and have to wait for the next one, which could be another 10 minute wait. because of the covid-19 situation the bathrooms, water fountains, and the upstairs section of the ferry is closed to the public, so you going to want to use the restroom before you get on the ferry, and maybe bring a drink because as I said the upstairs section is closed. Masks and six feet distance is still required. Enjoy!

Comment: It’s a free state run service, how often do you find free transportation with scenery and most of the people working there are friendly. Sometimes the wait can take awhile but it’s worth it.
