Comment: Lovely one way drive through the refuge. Best in spring but still dramatic scenery in summer

Comment: Beautiful nature preserve with well maintained hiking/walking paths. If you’re lucky, you may see moose or deer. We saw hawks, a bald ealge, and a variety of geese and ducks. It’s a very nice hike up to Myrtle Falls. Easy enough for the whole family, and the views are worth it.

Comment: A beautiful refuge in a gorgeous part of the country. I took the trail up to Myrtle Falls. The falls themselves are a bit hard to see due to trees but it was a pleasant short hike. The auto loop has a very well maintained road with a few wide spots. In all honesty the best time to visit isn’t middle of the summer as there was virtually no waterfowl to be seen. My next visit will be for the fall bird migration when birds should be plentiful. All in all I had a nice visit.

Comment: Very beautiful place. It has a mix of mountains, rivers/creeks and valley plains. The main attraction seems to be the trail to Myrtle Falls, but there is more to it than that.

Comment: What a beautiful and peaceful place. It takes about 15 minutes to hike to Maple Falls and it’s such a serene setting. I highly recommend a visit.
