Comment: We had a fantastic trip to Leshan to see the Giant Buddha. Taking the high-speed train from Chengdu to Leshan Railway Station (乐山站) was super convenient, with the ride lasting just about an hour. Once we arrived, we hopped in a taxi (you can take a bus too), which took around 30 minutes to reach the entrance. From there, a quick shuttle ride (about 10 minutes) and a short walk of around 400 meters brought us to the top view of the Buddha.
The view from above was breathtaking, but the real experience came when we followed the path down to the base of the statue. It’s about a 20-minute walk, but the journey is totally worth it. The sheer size and detail of the Buddha are beyond impressive, and seeing it from both the top and the bottom really gives you a full appreciation of its magnificence. It’s a bit of a hike, but such an unforgettable experience!

Comment: There are 2 ways to see the Buddha statue. By a boat ride on the river where you can see the whole 71m tall Buddha. However, the boat services maybe suspended due to weather and river conditions. This time, we had to take a short hike which was not suitable for some old folks or with walking disability. It’s all steps and it takes about 20mins to get there. Along there way, you can see some artifacts which was crafted in the walls of the hill in ancient times. When you reach the top, normally it will be crowded around the Buddha statue. We had to. Slowly go close the the edge to view the Buddha from top to bottom angle. Here, you can also get a good view of Leshan city. Of course when one goes up, one must also come down. Coming down, we walked pass a temple with Buddhist scriptures engraved into the rocks. Lastly, we took the electric buggy back to the main entrance.

Comment: Great experience can visit and share this moment. But unfortunately we can’t see the Giant Buddha statue from river side by boat bcos the river to shallow for boat. But it’s still valuable experience for us. Can reach from Chengdu city by bullet train about 45 minutes to Le Shan city than take taxi or by bus.

Comment: It’s worth every dollar to visit this place. Mesmerizing on how this statue can be built during its day. Was expected to go down using stairs but closed down for repairs. Nevertheless, it is a good and memorable experience. Also, look out for other scenic views and historic pagoda
