Comment: Excellent facility with a covered waiting area and a restroom. The fare to Oakland is $1.70 and is a great way to finish a bike ride in Alameda without braving the tunnel or going back to the Park St. bridge. Be aware the ferry isn’t always able to stay on schedule, especially on warm and sunny weekends when ridership increases.

Comment: Taking the Seaplane from Alameda to San Francisco is probably in my top 5 things to do in the Bay Area. This fast, comfortable ride that goes by the Port of Oakland’s container ships is so fascinating to see the world’s commerce at work!

The ferry ride is comfortable, the staff friendly and efficient. On a weekday morning there was lots of free parking available at the ferry terminal.

This Seaplane commute from Alameda to San Francisco is yet another great reason to live in Alameda. I try to take this ferry ride as often as possible – a cheap vacation!

Comment: My first time on the ferry, it was excellent!!!!! Very easy to purchase tickets and there is a designated parking area for ferry riders. Exceptionally clean, with very comfortable seating areas. The ferry has great upper deck area if you want a more scenic ride. There is also a bit for drinks and snacks…. definitely the way to commute….hands down!!!!!!

Comment: Not as they promised.
Review before the game: I went on a Saturday and it was convenient from the Alameda side which boards before the Oakland riders get on. Get the seat you want because the number of outdoor seats is very limited on these newer ferry ships. The seats inside are luxurious and comfy. Drink a beverage on the way there. Great way to loosen up.
Ferry will bring you back, no longer than 30min after the last out. Buy your ticket online.

Review after the game: On the way back, it was very disappointing. There are three lines, Larkspur, Vallejo and Oakland/Alameda. I think Vallejo is the new line and there are only 2 docks ar China Basin. Two boats have to load and the third line has to wait until the entire boat loads and launches. For us, the game ended at 750pm and our boat is still docking at 820pm. It’s pretty cold at 60F and many of us are in shorts. If I knew it was going to be such a long way, I might have gotten to the ballpark differently because this isn’t the most pleasant option. And we are still loading after 40mins, not as promised on their website.

It is really nice to take the ferry to the city. I recommend it. You can pay your tickets on board.
Enjoy the ride.
