Comment: Portsmouth International Port is a highly efficient and well-organized gateway for both passengers and freight services. Located conveniently near the city center, it offers excellent connectivity to mainland Europe and the Channel Islands. The port is easily accessible by road and public transport, making travel straightforward.
One of the standout features of the port is its modern and well-maintained facilities. The terminal building is clean, spacious, and equipped with a range of amenities, including cafes, shops, and comfortable seating areas. The check-in process is smooth, with helpful and friendly staff ensuring that boarding is as stress-free as possible.
For travelers, the port provides a variety of ferry services, from high-speed options to more relaxed, scenic routes. Its frequent crossings make it an attractive choice for those looking for flexibility in their travel plans. There’s also plenty of parking available, both short-term and long-term, which is a big plus for those driving to the port.
On the environmental front, Portsmouth International Port has been making significant strides in sustainability, with initiatives aimed at reducing its carbon footprint, including electrification projects and efforts to support greener transport options.
However, during peak seasons, the port can get busy, and the waiting times for check-in and security might be longer, but overall, the port manages the flow of passengers well. More seating in the terminal during these times would enhance the waiting experience.
In summary, Portsmouth International Port is a modern, convenient, and well-run facility that serves as a key transport hub for travelers and cargo, offering excellent service with a focus on sustainability. It’s an excellent choice for those looking to travel across the Channel or further afield.

Comment: The only place to go if you want to get to France or Spain. Efficient parking up system and loading of ferry.
Toilets, coffee and shop in the terminal. Cheerful ground staff and check in.
It was better when we could catch the LD lines catamaran to France, but Brittany Ferry’s pushed them out of Portsmouth.

Comment: We’ve been on 5 different cruise ship and this was the smoothest boarding process. We arrived by taxi directly to the bag drop off at noon. A free shuttle to the Hard was provided with service every 15 minutes. We boarded with a 15 minute walk to the cruise ship on time.

Comment: Very easy to check for your ferry, simple to find your way to the port. Staff were very helpful. Nice cafe upstairs, limited gift shop, but all in all a great way to start your holidays in Europe. Alot less stress than airports, you check in on line, rock up and show your booking number and passport and hey presto you’re in. Picture of my cabin view, very nice as I didn’t have a window.
