Comment: The water is beautiful. We just shopped at the cruise ship port for a couple of hours. The people were very nice especially to our Special Olympic Athletes.

Comment: Skip the fake shops right by the dock/pier, and walk straight thru the mini mall out the back, to find the line for the FREE Buses to downtown. Take the bus into town to the local market. The bus drops you directly into middle of the downtown at the Bus Terminal, next door to the Mercado. There is a restroom right as you exit the bus, and hundreds of local venders, who can be a tiny bit harassing. You have several options from here. Shop in this immediate area for an hour or two. You can walk 3 blocks to the Beach (follow the Playa signs). Last, you can take a short $10 open air city bus tour. I try to support the small local venders, and I make sure to tip all the bus drivers. The downtown Mercado represents a authentic Mexican lifestyle. To the venders, just say no thank you several times and move on down to a new area. The FREE Bus picks you back up at the same place it dropped you off at. Please, support the locals in this port city.

Comment: She is a diamond in the rough and I look forward to cruising here as this port develops. I was sad to see that more vendors left, likely due to Covid. Water is pristine and I love seeing a healthy port of commerce. The shopping is ok, it’s a little too assertive for me. I hope to see some water front dining options so cruises can walk off, shop, dine and get back on board without having to venture too far.
I definitely supported the local economy, bring cash, be generous and negotiate! People are friendly, definitely willing to earn business. I loved seeing the Mexican navy working, very cool.

Comment: Very good experience disembarking our cruise ship here. The authorities were friendly and relaxed. The tour crews have a big area to organize all parties and bring them outside of the terminal to board the bus shuttles.
There is a small duty free zone with handcrafts and souvenirs, a pharmacy and a bar.
