Comment: 6/23 Seastreak Ferry PVD to Newport, round trip cost our old selves $12 each for senior pricing. Easy to park and free. Took about an hour on the water each way. We sat up top and watched the bay go by and all the activity on the water. Excellent experience and the crew was great.

Comment: Seastreak Ferry in Providence R.I.

We took an uber from the Providence airport to the ferry port. It took us about 15 minutes to the ferry. The ticket office is shaded and has benches. There is a parking lot located next to the ticket office and there is a portable bathroom and portable restroom trailer.
The Ferry also has a snack bar and restrooms.
The Ferry took 1 hour to get to Newport. I enjoyed the ride.

Comment: The ferry itself was great. We were able to get some snacks, water and drinks. The area to wait for the ferry in Providence was not so pleasant. It is not clearly marked so if you are on foot you may miss it. There is nothing to eat or drink around so be prepared. We were there during the heatwave a few days ago. My husband was feeling dehydrated and we begged to purchase a bottle of water. The attendant would not help us because they don’t have a license to sell anything. We already had tickets for the ferry. We could have been given the water and then pay for it inside the ferry. She said no. If you are walking there be careful when you follow google maps. The darn thing had us walking next to the highway to make it to the ferry place! The docking are at Newport was great full of good places to eat and walk around.

Comment: Pros: The ferry was fast, got to see a lot of scenery, and even though it was a rainy day, I stayed nice and dry and enjoyed the trip. The women at the ferry ticket office was exceptionally helpful and friendly.
Cons: The shuttle van connecting the train station to the ferry was MIA in the morning, and running late in the afternoon. In Newport, the ferry was supposed to depart at 6:30 pm. It was raining steadily and they did not let anyone board until after 6:25 pm. There were less than ten people waiting to board.
