Comment: We were at the ferry parking lot. STAFF 5 stars. Dusty hot lot with few amenities is a 3 or less. You may have to cross traffic to get onto the dusty gravel road is a 2 star. It is a wide gravel road. You go through a sign in booth, then down the road to either Ultracarga or Transcaribe lots, that are side-by-side. There are signs if the colours of Ultracarga’s bright blue and yellow aren’t obvious on the left side. Then two very clear signs for lining up that, while in Spanish, are pretty understandable in many languages – reservations or other family cars/small trucks. The service was good. With an attendant patiently trying to provide info in pretty decent broken English to us. There is a service building in front of the line-up area with washrooms, shade and snack machines. Nothing fancy but clean. Staff will tell you when to pay if you have no reservation. They will give directions to the ferry when ready. Just follow their visual directions. Staff are very efficient and clear if you watch their hand signals. THE RETURN IS ENTIRELY DIFFERENT.

Comment: Price was fare, we paid $860 pesos. The only thing we didn’t was the entire trip one-way, is almost 3 hours. There is a small snack bar and comfortable chairs inside.

Comment: Ultramar’s cargo ferry to Cozumel is the option for anyone looking for doing the journey between Playa del Carmen and Cozumel with a vehicle.
Booking is easy – you can book up to 24 hours before the date and get there even 1 hour before departur.
If you’re not booking your ticket online it’s better to be there at least 2 hours before to make sure you have space available and tickets.

The process itself is efficient, comfortable, and enjoyable, with modern facilities and excellent customer service. I highly recommend this ferry service to anyone looking for a stress-free way to travel to Cozumel.
