Comment: I walked right in and purchased my tic in minutes, then promptly walked right on the Ferry over to Vinalhaven Island. That simple. Clean restrooms on board, plenty of seats outside for some incredible and extremely unique views. The Ferry was on time both trips there and back, the Captain got us there safely and the crew, very friendly and accommodating. The price point for the tic was very affordable and the convenience of their office location is fantastic. The local bus transit stops and picks you up right in front. There are some food establishments within walking distance if you find yourself waiting. Plenty of parking and a staging area for the awaiting vehicles too.

Comment: There are three problems with this service. First, its very archaic reservation system requires that callers hang on the telephone, waiting in the queue, for extended periods of time (in our case, fifty minutes). Second, once that wait is completed, the personnel are, shall we say, abrupt. Finally, and most significantly. the service is completely inadequate. After waiting the aforementioned fifty minutes, we were told that customers must make reservations a full month or more in advance. If that is the future of public transportation, time to get a time machine and return to the past!
