Comment: First time on a ferry and my husband and I had so much fun. Staff were friendly and helpful, didn’t have to wait long at all. We recommend sitting on the top deck.

Comment: Boat rides not bad at all. Stars off for before and after. If you can, park at the main lot (think it’s no.1), we have a large truck and couldn’t fit anywhere so we went to the large lot, thinking they’ve got their own boats, even though they don’t leave as often. Not the case, they only let on whatever left over space they have from the main lot’s loaded boat. Our boat was over 30 min.’s late (not fun in line w/kids, folks cutting the line with large parties ahead of us). Luckily we got on the cramped lower level to get to the island. For the return we were told the boat would take us directly to our lot after returning most to the main lot first. It was a wonderful ride back to St. Ignace, we got on the top deck which was uncrowded and had spectacular views however, the boat did not take us to our lot. We had to disembark and take a non airconditioned tiny bus back to our lot – not the biggest of deals but unexpected and not great. I’ll try the other ferry service next time.

Comment: Good experience, first time with baby. You don’t have to buy tickets for under the age of 4. Can take your buggy or stroller along and park in the ferry. It’s always recommended to pack your baby up if you wanna enjoy the top deck or else you have to settle down in the cabin area as the wind may hurt your baby’s ears. Try to be as early as possible in the morning to get an early ferry (only before 11 am will go under the bridge) if not then get a preferred tickets which makes you select your ferry time or else it’s gonna be first come first serve at the yard to board. If you have then get a e-bike so that you can save a lot of money and spend very good private time unless you are in a public horse carriage or horse taxi or else have to rent a bike which may cost you around 20$ per person per hour. We spent almost 3 hrs to just to see different water places and did not see arch, landing or fort. To see everything on this island or cover most places, you will need a whole day from 10 am to 6 pm May be. You will spend around 200 per bike if you don’t get your own. I think 400$ will get you a new e-bike for ever in Costco or Walmart. If you have a baby you can get a carrier there to attach to your bike. All together it’s a great experience. Thought it’s not my first time here, we find something new every single time. Don’t miss it if you are around Michigan in summer. Best time to visit is after 1st week of June. Strictly No in MAY as you will end up frustrating due to bugs at bay and water is very cold you can’t even pose for a photo. Don’t waste your money time and energy.

Comment: Although there are limited options to get to Mackinac (as far as ferries), this one was great.

We left from the docks in St. Ignace which is awesome because the day parking is free!

The boat leaves about every 30 minutes or so, which makes it very convenient. The same goes returning at the end of the day. They board first come first serve (however on the return they have priority boarding which looked to be people who work on the island).

There was plenty of seating outside and inside. Either were fine, as it’s a quick 15-20 boat ride. Check the schedule because some of the ferries take a quick detour under the bridge.

The boats also carry bikes and luggage. I was impressed how efficiently they moved it all!!

Overall it was a good experience. If we return we would use this company again.

Comment: We’ve taken the ferry over the Mackinac Island a few times and never had a bad experience. The prices here are a little less than the competition. I bought our tickets ahead of time online, which saved a little money and time. There’s a gift shop with restrooms. The ferry is also dog friendly! Staff were all nice and friendly.
