Comment: Overall – a good experience.
This is a stop over port for us but most passengers get off and on at this port.
A relative plain terminal but a lot of walking.
Bought MSC shuttle/ferry to Kiel- recommended as easy to get into town and return to ship.
Kiel is a small town with good shopping mall and street – a pleasant surprise.

Comment: Total chaos, zero organization and even staff panicking like it’s their first day at work. That piece of metal roof over a concrete floor shouldn’t be even called a terminal. Huge queues, passengers in fear of losing their flights or missing booked excursions, extremely slow and understaffed customs control. It took almost 2 hours from leaving the ship to be outside that shack.

Comment: Didn’t know the MSC berth here instead of on the other side like all other cruise lines do. The transportation to the other side is relatively easy if you were able to find a nice time for the F2 ferry to cross the “fjord”. Otherwise bus 11 and 41 (to the U-boat) are 10-15 minutes walk away (plus an additional 5-10minutes to get on the ship from Chick-in). MSC provides a shuttle to the train station and airport.
