Comment: All I can say is “Wow”. The only issue is the trip wasn’t long enough.
No wonder why all of the staff members where so happy. Very comfortable ride, plenty of selections for food, or enjoy a glass of wine with a cheese spread. Enjoyed it from the beginning to the ending.

Comment: I took my truck to Nova Scotia on the Cat two weeks ago. I’ve been lucky to experience a lot of ferry service this year, and the Cat was top tier.
It’s a three and a half hour ride from Bar Harbor to Yarmouth. The ferry runs each way once a day. It is, however, closed now for the 2024 season.
There is food and drink service, movies and entertainment, and a gift shop. Lots of comfortable seating. As with almost all large vehicle ferries, your car is on a cargo deck, and you are not permitted to stay with it or return during the voyage.
It’s pricy, but faster than driving, and probably cheaper after you factor in all the gas you won’t burn.

Comment: We were scheduled to take the CAT on May 20, 2024. When we arrived at the Bar Harbor terminal, we were told that it had been canceled!! We couldn’t be rescheduled until Thursday, May 23rd. This would mean that we would have to stay in Bar Harbor until then, which is fine except we had reservations in Nova Scotia. We drove an additional 3 hours, after already driving 5 hours, to St. Johns, NB and caught the Fundy Rose ferry to Digby. We are hoping the CAT is running on May 31, 2024 for our trip home. We did not have any notification from NFL that the crossing was canceled that day. If we had, we would have driven directly to St. Johns, NB. We have alternate plans if the ferry isn’t running on May 31, which I suggest anyone who plans to take the ferry does the same. We have heard from numerous locals that this is a common experience.
