Comment: The terminal at Swartz Bay is quite nice, with clean washrooms and good croissants at the café.

I had no complaints except for the security lady inside the ferry. When we drove our cars on board, she seemed to rush us to park quickly in the designated spaces.

They don’t have many dog-friendly areas for potty breaks, but you can take your pups to do their business next to the children’s playground.

The staffs in cafe were really nice! Also, the ferry always comes early. Make sure to arrive 45 mins before the next ferry arrives. Filled up quickly during late summer (we came early Sept).

Comment: Took the 9:00 ferry to Vancouver and the deck had plenty of room to spread out. There is a gift shop on board and a few other observation platforms outside of the sitting area. You can feel the sea breeze from there and the ferry is pretty big. But for this big of a ferry, I was expecting wifi but the staff member said they don’t have it so that’s the only thing I can complain about. Otherwise, it was actually a very peaceful cruise!

Comment: No consistency with fare costs. Reserved for $71.75 three days in advance. Day of sailing it was $50.95. Called and they gave refund for difference. An hour later it was $40.55 and could not reach them by phone for refund.

Why the $30 difference on the same day?

Comment: The front desk old white lady is simply a racist. She didn’t have any hearing issues with others except me. When I showed her the booking confirmation she simply ignored me and asked me to get in line AGAIN. So glad the self service machine actually works (not like the Vancouver ones) so I could print out the tickets instead of dealing with her attitudes

Comment: Great way to see the islands. Take a ferry and go on a peasant Cruise from the comforts of your vehicle. Prices are fairly reasonable. There’s usually a cafe on board on the bigger ships. Always nice to be able to grab a coffee and a scone. Some ships have work stations so you can get stuff done on the water. Bathrooms are typical clean and more spacious that a airliner washroom. There’s a nice dog area at the Swartz terminal to walk your pooch while you wait for the boat.
