Comment: Free ferry transportation operating Thursday thru Sunday 1:30PM until 7:30PM. The approximately five minute trip, has pick up and drop off as required for up to six passengers per trip. The East Potomac Jitney Dock is located across Ohio Dr. near the Mini Golf Course and travels to the Wharf Recreation Pier.

Comment: Super useful short water taxi. The scheduling is becoming more and more reliable and I’m glad the service is here. My work boat, which gets used for private cruises in DC, is just across the channel at the Wharf marina. Sometimes it’s nice to have this option to take the beautiful Duffy 22 (Bob Perry design!) across instead of having to cycle all the way across!

Comment: Free, of course 5 star. The jitney takes you from District Wharf to and from East Potomac Park. It only takes 6 passengers per trip because of coast guard rule. The ride is only a few minutes so there is never a long wait. Enjoy the beautiful view of District Wharf from the East Potomac Park side. East Potomac Park also has a lot of Kwanzan cherry trees that blooms a couple weeks after the Yoshino blooms around the Tidal Basin. There is also free parking. It’s about a 1.3 mile walk to Thomas Jefferson Memorial where you can pick up the DC circulator National Mall routes which stops at all of the museums and memorials. The circulator is a free service from the DC government.
Do check the schedule. It does not run year round.
