Comment: We took the ferry to Wolfe Island (or as I am calling it “Farm Island” because it’s nothing but farm land everywhere) in August 2024. They are very organized and on time. And it’s free.
We waited on the Kingston side about an hour (left the car in the lineup and went for a little walk).
It is MUCH easier and faster to take the ferry (no waiting in line) by foot or by bike.
Unfortunately the boat docks 4.5 km from town and 19km from Sandy Bay Beach. So a car is very much needed to tour the island.
The crossing takes 20 minutes and it is absolutely beautiful. It may just make sense to take it back n forth without the car just for the view. The bathroom I used was clean and tidy.
On the way back (around 5pm) we waited 20 minutes and didn’t have to leave the car.
Be prepared to wait based on how busy they are.
From Kingston its on the hour and from Wolfe Island is on the half hour.

Comment: Ferry trat transports from Kingston to Wolfe island. It is free. On the way back, we had to wait for 2h to be able to return to Kingston.

Comment: Absolutely amazing free service from Kingston to Wolfe Island. It runs at an hourly schedule starting from Wolfe island at 5:30 am until 1:30 am and from Kingston starting at 6:00 am and the last ride is at 2:00 am. Almost 50 cars capacity.
